4-LOM

4-Lom was a protocol droid with a twist. He overrode his circuits and went from primarily being an interpreter to being a galactic thief, and eventually a bounty hunter.

He worked alongside Zuckuss and in the Empire Strikes Back they were both hired along with Boba Fett to capture Han Solo alive. Unfortunately 4-Lom did not succeed, as Boba Fett was the one to bring Solo back to Jabba.

4-LOM was from a series of his own class, manufactured by Industrial Automation. In a sense his maker empowered the droid to be his own by telling him there were others like him who rose up. One of 4-LOMs first missions was a luxury liner, but this is where he overrode his programmer and turned scoundrel.
